Brazil lacks cane crops to increase ethanol exports

The Brazilian sugar cane companies, who are attempting to manufacture ethanol from sugar cane and export it to the US, are not producing enough according to a but a Lawmaker. “Our production won’t allow for a significant increase in exports,” said Abreu, a member of the Social Democratic Party who represents the state of Tocantins and heads the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock, a lobby group.
